The Project Aim The aim of the project is to install an Archimedes Screw in the river beside the existing weir in order to generate power and produce a regular income for the whole community.
Preliminary assessments suggest that the turbine should generate over 160,000 kWh per annum, enough to power 60 homes.
This will save over 80 tonnes of carbon per annum and should generate an income for the village well into 4 figures. This power will be sold directly to the grid with the income coming mainly from Feed-in Tariffs.
